Build four King-to-Ace suit runs in Scorpion Solitaire. Any face-up card can carry the cards below it, even when they are unordered. Cards4 clears completed runs automatically. Play free, without ads or signup, with hints, undo and saved progress.
How to Play
- One 52-card deck forms seven columns of seven cards. Columns 1–4 each start with three hidden cards and four visible cards; columns 5–7 are all face up. Three cards remain in the stock.
- Build down by the same suit: 9♦ fits on 10♦, but not on 10♥ or J♦. Aces are low, and King–Ace wrapping is forbidden.
- Move any face-up card with every card below it. Those passengers need not match in suit or rank. For example, 9♦ carrying K♥ and 4♣ can move onto 10♦; the whole group keeps its order.
- An empty column accepts only a King or a group led by a King. A Queen-led group is illegal, even if a King is among its passengers. The move must leave at least one card in the source column. Moving an entire King-led column to a space is not allowed on Cards4.
- An exposed hidden card flips automatically. A full exposed King-to-Ace run of one suit is collected into its foundation automatically; individual foundation moves are not allowed. Collect all four runs to win.
- Deal the three stock cards once, one each to columns 1–3, whenever you choose. Empty columns do not prevent this deal. There is no redeal. Consider useful tableau moves before covering them with stock cards.
- Drag a group to a highlighted destination, or tap its leading card and then a destination column. The numbered column button also targets an empty column. With a keyboard, select a card and destination in the two menus, then activate Move. Escape cancels selection and hints.
- Undo reverses a whole move, including flips and run clearing. Reset replays the same deal; New game starts another. Progress saves automatically. Random deals are not guaranteed solvable, and hints suggest legal moves rather than a winning solution.
Strategy
Reveal before tidying
A move that exposes a hidden card gives you new information. Compare it with a move that only joins visible cards, and inspect where the passengers will block the next move.
Keep a landing place for the King
An empty column helps only when a King-led group can use it. Check which King becomes available before spending moves to open a space.
Check columns 1–3 before dealing
The stock adds a card to each of these columns. Use a useful exposed card first when practical; an early deal is legal, but may cover that opportunity.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I move cards that are not in sequence?
Yes. Every face-up card may carry all the cards below it. Only the chosen leading card must fit the destination: same suit, exactly one rank lower. You cannot leave passengers behind.
What can fill an empty column?
A King or a group led by a King. It must leave at least one card in the source column; an entire King-led column cannot move to a space. Wasp allows other cards into empty columns; Cards4 Scorpion does not use that relaxation.
Do completed runs stay on the tableau?
Cards4 automatically collects exposed same-suit King-to-Ace runs. Some classic versions leave completed runs on the tableau. Here the foundation slots show the four collected runs.
Must I wait until I am stuck to deal the stock?
No. You may deal the three cards at any time, once, even with empty columns. They always go to columns 1–3. Delaying is a strategic choice, not a move restriction.
Is every deal winnable?
No guarantee is made for these random deals. Hints find legal actions, not proven winning continuations. There is no solver, solvable-only setting or daily Scorpion mode here.
How is Scorpion different from Spider and Yukon?
Scorpion uses one deck and builds down by suit. Unlike Spider, you can move unordered face-up groups. Yukon also moves groups freely, but Cards4 Yukon builds in alternating colors and has no stock.
